Power Dot is one of the fastest growing operators of charging points for electric vehicles in Europe.
Power Dot invests, installs and operates EV chargers with an innovative business model akin to an Infra and Tech scale-up play. We are structured and operate as both an EV charging point operator and infrastructure investment fund.
With just over two years of operation, we have invested in hundreds of different locations and are now operating a diverse portfolio of shopping malls, large retailers, gas stations, business centers and municipalities. In the future, Power Dot aims to be a reference player in the development of the various verticals and modes of electric mobility (i.e. land, sea and air transport).
This is an unique opportunity to join a very fast growing company with an equally fast growing team across Portugal, France, Belgium, Spain, Poland and Luxembourg. Our team is composed of well-rounded diverse individuals with backgrounds ranging from McKinsey & Co., UBS Investment Bank, Oliver Wyman or Burger King to people who were responsible for scaling Uber, Glovo and Lime at their earliest stages.
Backed by an international diversified investor base and with a robust balance sheet to invest in the growing electric mobility sector, we are looking for a strong individual to support our strategic and day-to-day operational decisions across all our European markets.
Responsibilities
As a backend developer, you will work on the team responsible for the development of Power Dot’s tech suite. This role presents a great opportunity to bring value to the company and scale internal and customer oriented solutions across a growing and diverse company scaling in different markets.
Our culture at Power Dot is one of ownership, fast execution and overachievement. Being such an important role, we expect you to further cement these culture pillars across our organisation. The Developer will report to the CPO and work closely with our engineering team.

- Backend - PHP with Laravel, Python, JSON, XML, Websockets
- Frontend : React and React Native
- Infrastructure and storage layer: Linux, MySQL, Redis, Docker
- CI/CD: Gitlab
- Techniques: Test driven development, agile software development
- Logging and monitoring: Zabbix, Graylog or ELK
- Documentation and tooling: Confluence, Jira, Slack, Discord
The Candidate
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in one or more of the backend oriented frameworks and programming languages described above.
- Has awareness and experience in using agile methodologies;
- Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with other functional teams;
- English fluency
We'd Love To See Someone Who:
- Serious bonus points for previous experience in EV specific protocols: OCPP and OCPI (JSON based protocols);
- Has experience working with a high concurrency/high transactional platform;
- Has experience in test automation;
- Has experience or is very interested in Machine Learning and AI;
- Scripting experience bash, python;
This is a full-time position, based in our office in Lisbon but we are open to remote work as well. English is the main working language.
